Product information

Lamisil cream and Lamisil gel are antifungal medications that are applied topically to the skin. They can treat a variety of fungal infections including ringworm, jock itch and athlete’s foot. Lamisil is a branded medication that uses the active ingredient called terbinafine. You can buy your Lamisil cream from our online UK-based pharmacy.

Athlete’s foot (tinea pedis), jock itch (tinea cruris) and ringworm (tinea corporis) are common fungal skin infections that can be treated with Lamisil cream and Lamisil gel. The conditions can occur due to an abundance of the dermatophyte fungus.

Despite its potentially misleading name, ringworm is actually a fungal infection that can cause a ring-like rash to form on the skin. Jock itch is the name given to the condition when it is found on the inner thighs, groin or buttocks. Athlete’s foot is caused by the same fungus but is specifically found on the feet, most commonly in the spaces between the toes. All three types of infection can cause irritation and unsightly skin.

These fungal infections do not usually lead to serious complications, however they should be treated as soon as possible to prevent the spread to others. Fungal infections can be transmitted through close skin to skin contact or by the sharing of towels, bedding or clothing.

Topical antifungal treatments such as Lamisil are highly effective at killing off the dermatophyte fungus. When applied directly to the skin the active ingredient damages the fungal cell make up. In most cases a thin layer of cream is gently rubbed into the infected skin and the surrounding area. This action is usually carried out once or twice a day for between one and two weeks.

Should your fungal infection fail to clear up in the specified timescale you should speak to your doctor. More persistent cases may require a different line of treatment such as oral tablets.

If you have athlete’s foot, jock itch or ringworm and want to commence a course of Lamisil cream or Lamisil gel treatment please complete our online consultation. Once you submit your answers one of our doctors will review your order. Approved orders are processed and dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy. All items are shipped by tracked courier so you can expect to receive your item the next working day.
