Levest is a combined hormonal oral contraceptive pill. Contained in it are two functioning agents, called ethinylestradiol and levonorgestrel, and these work in a similar way to oestrogen and progesterone. The treatment is a 21-day pill, made by Morningside Pharmaceuticals.
- Easy 21-day pill
- 99% success rate
- Can treat painful or irregular periods
Hormones rise and fall in number in the body each month, and are released to help manage the certain processes the body undertakes during the menstrual cycle. When their numbers are low, ovulation commences, and this involves the generation and production of an egg ready for fertilisation. This process stops when levels of the hormones rise.
Similarly, these hormones also regulate the buildup and shedding of the uterine wall. It is this wall which accepts implantation from a fertilised egg, and harbours its development following conception.
By supplementing the levels of oestrogen and progesterone in the body, the functioning components of Levest help to convince the body that ovulation has already happened. As a result, the release of an egg does not occur. Additionally, the lining of the uterine wall is altered so that it cannot receive a fertilised egg. The density of cervical fluid is also adjusted, so that sperm cannot move around as much inside the womb and reach an egg.
Finding the right pill is easy at Treated.com, and you don’t have to book an appointment, or even queue up. We offer a range of treatments suited to your needs, and all orders are fulfilled by a UK-based pharmacy which works to the highest possible standards.
