On Boxing Day, registered dietitian Julie Thompson shared this guide to Food Standards Agency hygiene ratings, designed to help consumers identify which eateries are following good cleanliness practices (and subsequently avoid eating at outlets which don’t).
PH Association tweeted this informative page from their site on Tuesday, providing guidance to those living with pulmonary hypertension on the do’s and don’ts of nutrition and exercise.
Wednesday saw this insightful bit of advice from the Association of British Dietitians, shared by Professor Kevin Whelan, reminding readers that just because some diets come with celebrity endorsement, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re nutritionally sound.
With New Year looming, Alana Scott shared this piece from Kate Scarlata on Friday. In it, registered dietitian nutritionist Kate provides a couple of ideas for those following a low FODMAP diet looking for a fancy tipple to bring in the New Year (and enjoy in strict moderation, obviously).
And lastly, in a departure from our food and diet theme, the following tweet caught our eye as we look to 2017 and the future. The European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) shared the following paper on the progress of ARIA, an initiative to help those with allergic rhinitis and asthma. The authors explain how new technology, such as smartphone apps, is developing to make management of the conditions easier for patients.
