Product information

Terbinafine is an antifungal medicine which contains the active ingredient of the same name. It is used to fight fungal nail infections.

  1. Fights symptoms fast
  2. Easy to use tablet medication
  3. One-a-day treatment

Fungal nail infections are a fairly common ailment, caused by an excess of particular types of fungal cells that usually live unnoticed on the skin. Once contracted, the infection can cause nails to look discoloured and thickened. Nails can then become weak, making them prone to breakages or flaking. Untreated toenails can become painful making it uncomfortable to walk, whereas untreated fingernails can make it difficult to write or type.

There are some medical conditions which make a person more vulnerable to attack from a fungal nail infection. They include diabetes, psoriasis, poor circulation and a weakened immune system. The skin infection known as athlete’s foot is easily transferred from the skin to the toenails. It can also be passed onto the fingernails if the infection is scratched. People who frequently wash their hands or work in water are usually more likely to contract a fingernail infection.

Antifungal treatment such as Terbinafine is used to fight nail infections. Terbinafine is the active ingredient in the medication of the same name. It works by limiting the production of ergosterol, a component used by fungi to multiply. Without it, holes form in the fungal cell structure, allowing the body’s healthy bacteria to infiltrate the unwanted cells and kill them off. This helps the body to reestablish it’s healthy bacterial balance.
