Rozex products are prescribed to treat rosacea, a skin condition which mainly affects the face. It causes areas of skin to become inflamed, red and spot-prone. Those affected may also experience a stinging or burning sensation, visible blood cells, eye irritation and thickened skin. Around 1 in 10 people in the UK develop this condition but the majority of cases are fairly mild. Anyone can have rosacea although it is more commonly seen in women, and particularly in people between the ages of 30-50 years and with fair skin.
The exact cause of rosacea is unknown. Several potential factors have been suggested but none have been proven. They include abnormal blood cells, microscopic skin mites and genetics. There are also several potential triggers for this condition which can vary from person to person including; hot and cold weather, sunlight, strenuous exercise, alcohol, caffeine, stress and spicy foods.
This type of condition can go through phases of relapse, meaning that over time symptoms can flare up and be particularly bad or appear to be less severe. Avoiding your specific triggers can help to improve the appearance of the disorder. There is no known cure for rosacea but treating the condition early can help prevent it from becoming worse. Rozex creams and gels are applied directly to the skin and are prescribed to help reduce rosacea symptoms.
Rozex cream and gel contain the active ingredient metronidazole. This antibacterial component kills bacteria cells by disturbing their genetic makeup. This helps to control any infection and soothe the inflammation, improving the appearance of the affected area.
