Kwells is a tablet medication made by Dexcel Pharma, and is used to provide relief from travel sickness symptoms. It has a fast reaction time in the body, and can work in as little as 20-30 minutes following application. The active ingredient in the product works by blocking the transmission of disorientating signals from the inner ear to the brain.

Travel sickness, which is also referred to as motion sickness, is a condition which is more common among children, but can affect adults as well. It is also thought to be more prevalent among women than it is men. Travel sickness occurs during vehicular transit, more typically on long journeys involving air or sea travel, but many people who ride on long road journeys may also experience it. Symptoms include nausea, vomiting, and dizziness.
It occurs as a result of discordant information being fed to the brain. During travel, your eyes may perceive an environment which is still, and stationary; while the balance centres in your inner ear detect movement. When this information is relayed to the brain, it creates confusion, and receptors in the vomiting centre react. This then creates feelings of sickness.
The way Kwells works to remedy this is to dull the effects of signals being sent from the inner ear. It contains a functioning constituent called hyoscine hydrobromide which inhibits the action of receptors in the vomiting centre. Even though the sensations of movement may still be being felt, their effect on the brain is lessened.
