What is Fungi-Nail Anti-Fungal Pen?

Fungi-Nail Anti-fungal Pen is a treatment for fungus on the skin around your nails. It can help clear toe fungus and prevent a fungal nail infection developing. It also contains aloe vera and tea tree oil, which can improve and restore the condition of your skin.

It comes as a pen that contains medication you apply directly to your nail cuticles and the skin surrounding your nail, usually twice a day. The active ingredient in the pen, tolnaftate, is an antifungal agent that interferes with fungi growth. By disturbing its production, fungal cells eventually die and your body can fight the infection.

Nail fungus can occur for a number of reasons — infections can develop after an injury to your nail, through poor foot hygiene, or as a result of other health conditions such as diabetes. Nails can also become infected when other fungal infections, such as athlete’s foot, spread from your skin to the nails. Fungi-Nail can help keep your skin fungus-free, preventing nail fungus from developing while also treating athlete’s foot.

How does Fungi-Nail Anti-Fungal Pen work?

Fungi-Nail works by clearing fungal infections on the skin that surrounds your nails. Fungal infections typically affect the feet, and live in the skin’s outermost layer, the epidermis.^[1] A common type of fungal infection is athlete’s foot, which usually starts between your toes and presents as sore, itchy white patches. Sometimes it causes the skin on your feet to crack and bleed.

Athlete’s foot and nail fungus are often caused by the same group of fungi, known as dermatophytes. Dermatophytes target keratin, a protein found in hair, skin and nails. They thrive in warm, moist areas, and can spread from person-to-person through physical contact and by sharing items like towels and bedding.

Fungi-Nail can help clear fungus from your skin before it has a chance to reach your nails. Along with its antifungal qualities, it also contains tea tree oil and aloe, which can hydrate your skin and reduce inflammation.

What doses of Fungi-Nail Anti-Fungal Pen are there?

Fungi-Nail comes as a single-dose pen, containing .1 Fl Oz (3ml) of liquid.

You usually use the pens twice a day, once in the morning and again in the evening. Your physician will advise you to use Fungi-Nail differently if they think you need to use it more or less often.

The pens can clear and prevent toe fungus, but they’re not intended to be used directly on your nail. If you think you have nail fungus, let us know about it. A doctor might advise you to continue using Fungi-Nail on your skin while recommending a treatment that specifically targets nail fungus.

How to use Fungi-Nail

Before using Fungi-Nail, clean the affected area you’re treating with soap and water, and dry your skin thoroughly. To apply it:

• remove the cap from the pen;
• saturate the brush by twisting the pen with the base facing upwards; and:
• apply a thin layer of liquid over the affected area.

If you don’t hear a click when you twist the pen, turn it the opposite way. You might need to twist the base several times the first time you use Fungi-Nail, to ensure the liquid in the pen is flowing.

Use the pen on any affected areas each morning and evening, unless your doctor has advised you to use it more or less often.

How long does Fungi-Nail take to work?

Fungal infections can be stubborn, and don’t always respond to medications in the same way.

You’ll usually need to use Fungi-Nail for around four weeks, applying it twice each day. This should be long enough to clear a fungal infection, and let new, healthy skin grow in its place.

When using Fungi-Nail, it’s important to apply it to the skin around your nail cuticles, and under the tips of your nails. This can stop fungus spreading to your nails.

Tolnaftate, the active ingredient in the pen, can sometimes clear an athlete’s foot infection in two to three days.^[1] If you feel like your symptoms have cleared, you should still keep using the pen for as long as you’ve been advised to. Fungal infections can still be present on your skin without causing symptoms, so you should keep applying the pen for as long as you’ve been advised to.

What should I do if I make a mistake when using Fungi-Nail?

If you use Fungi-Nail exactly how you’ve been advised to, it’s unlikely you’ll make any mistakes. Overusing the pen won’t help clear your fungal infection any faster, and should be avoided. Instead, stick with your recommended dosage routine and keep on top of your foot hygiene by washing them regularly and wearing clean socks each day.
